Cappadocia Blue Tour Program

As of 09.30 in the morning, we set off for Özkonak Underground City, which is the first stop of the adventure on the Cappadocia Blue Tour. After a long car journey, the area where Özkonak Underground City is located is reached. We do not doubt that you will feel like you have reached the texture of history while you are visiting, and perhaps you will be amazed. After a few hours of sightseeing among the traces of history, we go to Kızılçukur Valley, which is another sightseeing point.

A 1.5-hour hike is planned in the valley, which will welcome you in all its glory, especially on a sunny day. A 1.5-hour walk can be intimidating. However, you will be dazzled by the magnificence of the region you live in, and thus you will not even realize how time has passed. After the walk, we go to Çavuşin Village, one of the oldest settlements in the region. You feel as if you are walking among the ruins of history in this village. And this village is surprisingly used as a living space even today.

The end of our village tour approximately coincides with the noon hours of the day. Therefore, you may be very tired and need energy. For this reason, the fourth stop of the day has been determined as lunch. After a 1-hour break where our guests meet their food needs, "It is necessary to feed your soul as much as your stomach." continues with the motto.

Within the scope of the Cappadocia Blue Tour, we are going to Pigeon Valley, the fifth and last stop of our trip. This valley, which has a worldwide reputation, is the right spot to set the sun at the end of the day in the Cappadocia Region. Thus, the Cappadocia Blue Tour ends in Pigeon Valley after our guests are fascinated by the beauty of the sunset. Finally, our guests are picked up by vehicles and taken back to the hotel.

Cappadocia Underground Cities

The number of underground structures in the Cappadocia region is estimated to be between 150-200. However, if we consider that there are still many cities that have not been fully opened, the number of these cities is so high that almost no one can know. This is not strange at all, considering that all the people of the region lived in underground cities in times of danger in ancient times. There are indeed too many underground cities to count. But three of them are the most popular today for both domestic and foreign tourists.

These three popular underground cities are; Derinkuyu Underground City, Özkonak Underground City, and finally Kaymaklı Underground City. Most of these rock settlements were built by the people of the region by deep carving the tuffs. Due to its location, the Cappadocia region, which is on the roads of caravans or enemy communities, has served as a bridge throughout history. The people of the region, who were exposed to looting as a result of being on the road, used the soil structure of the region to protect themselves from the enemies. The people, who went down to the underground cities had built-in times of danger and were so well hidden from the enemy armies that they made them believe that no one lived in that area.

Özkonak Underground City

The first stop of our tour, Özkonak Underground City, was established on the slopes of the northern part of İdiş Mountain. The distance of this area, where easily eroded tuff layers are extremely dense, to Avanos is approximately 14 km. When we look at the conditions of that period, Özkonak Underground City, which was built so well that it can be called an engineering marvel, consists of 4 separate floors. The reason for not being satisfied with a single floor is the population density. So much so that it had to be built large enough to hide the entire city in times of danger.

However, not only the people but also the animals of the people of the region had to be kept. This is another purpose of building multiple floors like an apartment. For this reason, a walking route of approximately 2-3 km has been determined for the Özkonak Underground City, which goes down to 4 floors. As a result, it is possible to understand the intensity of that period based on all these. There are some common points for Cappadocia Underground Cities. Water wells, air chimneys, and rocks that help them hide by closing the mouths of the entrances are examples of these.

However, Özkonak Underground City contains two more details that are not found in other underground cities. One of these details is the communication holes are built to be very narrow but long, enabling the communication of the public on different floors. The second difference is the holes drilled on the huge rocks that block the entrance to the cities. Through these holes, defensive means such as throwing spears are made possible. As a result, these differences are the two most important features that distinguish Özkonak City from other underground cities.

Based on all of these; The Özkonak Underground City tour, made as part of the Cappadocia Blue Tour, will fascinate you, our guests, with the traces of that period. You will feel like you are discovering the mysteries of history and you will be able to attribute different meanings to every detail you see.

Cappadocia Red Valley

Cappadocia Red Valley, which is the second stop within the scope of the Cappadocia Blue Tour, covers a huge area. So much so that it is not only within the borders of a single district but is spread over three different districts. It is not in vain that this sightseeing point was added to our route right after the Özkonak Underground City tour, which is the first stop of our tour. Immediately after being fascinated by the mysteries of the underground, the spacious environment and magnificent structure of the Red Valley will welcome you. Undoubtedly, this valley takes its name from its red lands.

The reason for its red color is due to the structure of the tuff it contains. This valley is one of the popular spots visited by guests coming to Cappadocia. It also hosts millions of domestic and foreign tourists every year. Our Cappadocia Blue Tour continues with a 1.5-hour walk as planned on our route. In these 1.5 hours, you will have the chance to explore a significant part of the Red Valley, which is extremely enjoyable to watch. The red magic of the Valley is so high that you won't be able to help feeling like you are in a fairy tale. At the same time, let's not ignore the information that the region, which has a romantic atmosphere, is considered a marriage proposal point by tourists. In addition to its historical texture, it is also very suitable for photoshoots of magnificent beauty.

Finally, let us state that it is useful to consider the land structure of the region. The Cappadocia Blue Tour route generally includes plenty of hiking experiences, but it is important to prepare for the extra rugged nature of the Red Valley region. For this reason, it will be for the benefit of our guests to choose a shoe suitable for the uneven area.

Where is Kızılçukur Valley?

Cappadocia Red Valley is located in the Ürgüp district of Nevşehir. Transportation to the valley, which is about 4 km away from Üç Güzeller, is via the Nevşehir-Ürgüp road.

Cavusin Village

Çavuşin Village, which is the third stop of our tour and located approximately 2 km from Göreme town, is known as one of the oldest settlements in the Cappadocia Region. Therefore, the village, which has a history of thousands of years, is one of the areas where you can observe the traces of history in the best way. The village, which consists of ruined buildings on one side, is another popular area visited by local and foreign tourists who come to Cappadocia. A certain group of people who wanted to get rid of religious oppression in the Roman period settled in this region.

They built many churches and other places of worship, where they could practice their religion freely, by making holes in the fairy chimneys in the region. It is possible to say that the entire Cappadocia region has hosted Christian peoples in the past. For this reason, a relationship with Christianity can be established in the whole region. However, many churches built to live and spread their religion are located in the Çavuşin Village region. It is known that some churches in this region date back to the 5th century. However, two of the many churches here are the most visited by tourists.

These; are Çavuşin Church and John the Baptist Church, which take their name directly from the region where it is located. As part of the Cappadocia Blue Tour, a comprehensive tour of these two churches is offered to our guests. During our tour, our well-equipped guides, who have all kinds of information about the region, will inform you and you will notice that your feelings about this area are getting higher and higher. You will not be able to stop yourself from falling under the spell of the mystical atmosphere in the environment.

Cappadocia Tour Lunch

As determined on our route, the fourth stop of our tour is lunch. Places to visit up to this point include plenty of walking and plenty of exploration. Therefore, it is important for us that our guests can regain their lost energy. A 3-course menu awaits our guests during the lunch break, which lasts for 1 hour in total. After this 1-hour break, where they can have their meals and rest comfortably, we continue from where we left off to feed the souls of our guests.

Pigeon Valley

The fifth and last stop of our tour, Pigeon Valley, is one of the main points visited by local and foreign tourists visiting Cappadocia. It takes its name from the pigeons living in that region and their nests. This valley is undoubtedly the best option to be the last stop of this tour. The number of places visited and activities performed during the tour are carefully arranged by our agency according to a certain purpose and order. Therefore, it is not a coincidence that the last point for the Cappadocia Blue Tour is Pigeon Valley. So much so that the valley tour, which coincides with the sunset, is arranged according to the hours when you can catch the most fascinating views in that region. The valley, which makes you feel as if the whole of Cappadocia is under your feet, is also home to an extremely romantic atmosphere at sunset.

In addition, the birds that give the region its name are also bred in this region. Pigeon breeding, which dates back to the 9th century, is also directly related to the vineyards in Cappadocia. It is known that pigeon manure has a great contribution to the development of vineyards. The ecosystem in the cycle in this region allows many different types of pigeons to exist here.

Pigeon Valley, which provides a very pleasant trip and hiking experience due to its high location, is located between Göreme and Uçhisar towns. The valley, which is approximately 4100 meters long, is spread over a very large area. Moreover, there are also churches in this region, where we witness magnificent fairy chimney views. After a detailed Pigeon Valley tour, you come to the end of the day. Thus, after throwing all these beautiful experiences in your saddlebag, it is started to return to the hotel.
